Starting from the Middle

I've always been meaning to keep a journal of sorts about the games I've beaten, but it's taken some time to decide on where the right place to do that would be. I thought about using Twitter for awhile, but half of Twitter's allowance for text got eaten up by the game's title and number alone. I fooled around with Tumblr, but that ended up being a place for nonsense and endless image reposting- not what I wanted for this idea, I was looking for something more formal. I can't say how much enthusiasm I'll have for keeping this one going, but for now it can't hurt to try it out.

I'd love to have been working on this since I first started playing games, but I don't think my 5 year old self would have had much to write about regarding his time playing Adventure. As of this first post, the last game I beat is #422 on my list. So what does that mean for the 421 games that came before it? Basically, I've got two main ideas for what to do with them: make a retrospective post if I happen to be replaying one of those games, or else talk about them in a post about a new entry whenever it's relevant. Maybe they'll be part of the same series, maybe it'll just be some connection I make between the two games. At this point it's all just concepts in my mind, though I'm hoping I can eventually get a standard form to how I go about posting here.

In an ideal world, I'll keep this going long enough to at least write something about every last entry in games.doc. Obviously, this isn't going to be a short endeavor. But, every long journey has a beginning somewhere, right?
